- Call To Worship – Isaiah 6:1-7 ESV
- 1 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple.
- 2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
- 3 And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
- 4 And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.
- 5 And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!”
- 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar.
- 7 And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”

- 1 Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals.
- 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?”
- 3 And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it,
- 4 and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it.
- 5 And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”
- 6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
- 7 And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on the throne.
- 8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
- 9 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation,
- 10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”
- 11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands,
- 12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”
- 13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”
- 14 And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.

- 1 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
- 2 At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne.
- 3 And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald.
- 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads.
- 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God,
- 6 and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal. And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind:
- 7 the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight.
- 8 And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”
- 9 And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever,
- 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

- There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.
- And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
- The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.
- For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
- And his delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear,
- but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.
- Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins. In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples–of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious.
- Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.

- 2 He was in the beginning with God.
- 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
- 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
- 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
- 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
- 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him.
- 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.
- 9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
- 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.
- 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.
- 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
- 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
- 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
- 15 (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”)
- 16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
- 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
- 18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.

- 5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.
- 4 He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.
- 7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre!
- 8 He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills.
- 9 He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry.
- 10 His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man, 11 but the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.
- 15 He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
- 16 He gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes.
- 17 He hurls down his crystals of ice like crumbs; who can stand before his cold?

- In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
- The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep.
- And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
- And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
- And God saw that the light was good.
- And God separated the light from the darkness.
- God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
- And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
- And God said …
- And it was so …
- the second day. And God said …
- And it was so …
- And God saw that it was good …
- And God said …
- And it was so …
- And God saw that it was good …
- the third day. And God said …
- And it was so …
- And God saw that it was good …
- the fourth day. And God said …
- So God created …
- And God saw that it was good …
- And God blessed them …
- the fifth day. And God said …
- And it was so …
- And God saw that it was good …
- Then God said …
- So God created …
- And God blessed them. And God said to them …
- And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.
- And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
- Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
- And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.
- So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

- 6 Yet this you have: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
- 7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.’

- 9 I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
- 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet
- 11 saying, “Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.”
- 12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands,
- 13 and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest.
- 14 The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire,
- 15 his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters.
- 16 In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength.
- 17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last,
- 18 and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.
- 19 Write therefore the things that you have seen, those that are and those that are to take place after this.
- 20 As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

- 1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
- 2 who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.
- 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.
- 4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,
- 5 and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood
- 6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
- 7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

- 10 And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”

- 1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem,
- 2 saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
- 3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him;
- 4 and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
- 5 They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet:
- 6 “‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.'”
- 7 Then Herod summoned the wise men secretly and ascertained from them what time the star had appeared.
- 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship him.”
- 9 After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was.
- 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.
- 11 And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.

- 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
- 19 And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly.
- 20 But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
- 21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
- 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
- 23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).
- 24 When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife,

- 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
- 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
- 14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
- 15 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”
- 16 And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger.
- 17 And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child.
- 18 And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them.
- 19 But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.
- 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.
